- UDP has firmly positioned itself in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities. It has been ranked in the top three universities in the country. Over the last few years, different academic and human resources have been allocated to the field of Hard Sciences and Engineering. These resources have strengthened the academic project by promoting new areas of knowledge seeking to answer the great questions of humankind, e.g., astronomy, energy, and sustainability. Finally, the University has academic programs in the field of Medicine and Dentistry seeking to contribute to the population’s growing need for equal access to health plans and preventative and palliative programs.

- Diego Portales University encourages the critical independence of its members and faculties. Even though there are institutional guidelines and support, each of our schools has excellent research and academic teams in different fields of study.

Best Global Universities Rankings by U.S. News & World Report presents all the top universities from the U.S. and 60 other countries around the world. They measure the rate of students going to their second year of studies, as well as the rate of students who graduate. It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.

Library services
- The Nicanor Parra Library is the ideal space for the most prominent cultural and academic outreach activities at UDP. A sustainable building houses the Library, which becomes a space for the exchange of ideas, discussion, and gathering for the whole community. Cinema, literature, photography, and rock also have a place.
ICT services
- Furthermore, Diego Portales University offers a wide range of technological resources such as computer labs, specialized labs, and other digital services, for instance, e-mail, student portal, web page, and free WiFi access in all of its facilities.
Campus life
- Diego Portales University is located in downtown Santiago (Chile’s capital). It is close to La Moneda Palace (seat of government), the subway network, and the heart of the city’s historic quarters.
- Its total infrastructure amounts to 127,455 m2. Over 9,000 of those are heritage buildings the University has restored and renovated to house academic activities. Near 5,000 are destined to sport activities and 18,000 to library spaces.

- The University provides the students with different options for practicing sports. It also offers recreational, health, and integrating activities, promoting positive habits, and facilitating instances to develop the social skills necessary to improve the students’ quality of life.
