History

The history of NITech begins with the foundation of its predecessor, Nagoya Higher Technical School, in 1905. Renamed Nagoya College of Technology in 1944, it merged with Aichi Prefectural College of Technology under the new educational system with in 1949, being refounded as Nagoya Institute of Technology.

Housing services

NITech Cosmo Village:

  • NITech Cosmo Village is a domitory for international and Japanese students.
  • Students stdying at NITech for more that six months are eligible for applying.
  • Eight international and Japanese students live together in one unit.
  • Each unit has 8 private rooms, and a common space that is perfect for internatinal exchanges.

NITech International House:

  • International students (including exchange students and research students) and researchers can live here. A period of residence is principally 6 months from April or October.
  • There are Single, Couple and Family rooms in NITech International House.

Library services

The Nagoya Institute of Technology Library offers students access to its collections and databases as well as various other services.

Medical services

The Health Support Center provides health support for all members of the university, and offers early diagnosis and treatment, prevention of relapse, and onset prevention. It organizes health checks for all workers and students. Anyone can have a personal consultation with an internal physician (MD), psychiatrist (MD), clinical psychologist, or nurse. First aid is also available.

Campus life

Nagoya, located in the central Japan, is the 3rd-largest metropolitan area following Tokyo and Osaka. The main campus of NITech is located in the heart of Nagoya. It is next to Tsuruma Park and has easy access to the central shopping area, offering students a convenient and relaxing campus life.
