History
Created in 1973, the University of Fortaleza is a higher education institution recognized at regional, national and international levels.

Research
Unifor is committed to increasing human knowledge and develops research in several areas. The university's more than 400 phD professors receive institutional financial and material support for research projects. Undergraduate and graduate students also participate in these projects and are supported by a comprehensive research scholarship program.

Housing services
The Unifor Campus is huge! It's over 490,000 square meters long.
Open to public visitation on weekends, the campus extends its immense green carpet to those who arrive to exercise, promote picnics, play, celebrate birthdays, focus on readings or simply indulge in the free introspective enjoyment of the environment.
Library services
At the University of Fortaleza, you have access to one of the largest and most qualified collections of private universities in the State and the North and Northeast region. There are more than 140,000 titles, in a total of more than 330,000 documents/works in the areas of Legal, Technological, Health, Communication and Management sciences.
ICT services
The Technology Board - DTec is a strategic administrative area of the University, responsible for:
- Support of the practical training of students in the IT area by the technological training program (internships, scholarships and trainee vacancies) meeting the needs of the university's workforce and partners in the area;
- Provide IT support on campus to students, employees, and partners;
Medical services
Unifor's Integrated Medical Care Center (NAMI), a reference in the North and Northeast regions, provides multidisciplinary care both through the Unified Health System (SUS) and through agreements with health operators and companies or in particular.
NAMI offers various services - exams, vaccines, clinical analyses, imaging center, among others - always reinforcing its excellence in population care.
Campus life
The University is installed on a 490,000-square-meter campus, where there is a megastructure with about 300 classrooms and more than 400 specialized laboratories. The campus also consists of auditoriums, video rooms, library, living center, medical care center, dental clinic, sports park, theater, cultural space, office for legal practice, junior companies, university TV, kindergarten and elementary school and several other centers of academic practice and research.
Sports facilities
If in addition to studying at a university of excellence you also want to include sport in your life, either to keep fit or become an athlete in some sport, Unifor is your place. Here you have a wide and complete structure for sports.
At Unifor, you combine moments of learning, leisure and health through projects that encourage sport as a basis for personal and professional life. The University also hosts social projects, reveals new talents and supports high-level athletes who represent the institution in national and international competitions.
There are also sports advisories, in various modalities, which offer classes to all interested parties.
Student clubs
The Edson Queiroz Foundation understands cultural movements as significant allies of education. In this sense, it maintains groups of artistic expressions, coordinated by the University of Fortaleza. They are: Camerata, Coral, Big Band, Dance Company and Mirante Theatre Group.
These groups participate in events promoted by the University, as well as shows in the city and other states, activities that give meaning and recognition to the culture and values of our land. All have the participation of members of the academic community of Unifor (students, teachers or employees) and accept the entry of new components that have technical and artistic skills, according to the specification of each group.
