History
KL Deemed to be university was established in 1980-81, as KL College of Engineering, which was upgraded to KL College of Engineering Autonomous in 2006 by UGC, and was declared as a Deemed to be University in 2009 by UGC, MHRD Govt.of India.
In 2012 as a Deemed to be University the institution was accredited by NAAC with A Grade and later in 2018, was re-accredited by NAAC with A++ grade.
Education
K L Deemed to be University offers academic programs at UG, PG, doctoral and post- doctoral, which are industry focused, and incorporates trans-discipline, inter- discipline aspects of the education system with a strong emphasis on the effective usage of ICT and web resources to train the faculty on the latest advancements to develop effective e-content.

Housing services
- KLEF (Deemed to be University) has separate hostels for girls and boys with well furnished rooms and modern amenities. The overall atmosphere is very conducive for the students to concentrate on studies and research.

Library services
The Central Library had its humble early stages as the college of Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering (KLEF) established in 1981-82. The new building is constructed as a greenhouse with natural sunlight inside the library.
