Its founding decree, signed by King Charles IV of Spain, is dated the 11th March 1792. Since that date, it has undergone changes and been known by different names until finally being given its current name in 1913.

The university’s course catalogue includes: 45 undergraduate degrees; 21 official graduate courses in the process of being phased out and 30 official master’s degrees; 52 doctoral programs; and 25 master’s degrees unique to this university.

The international projects unit supports the ULL researchers to increase their financial resources by international project grants. In particular, we are focused but not limited to the H2020 and Interreg programs of the European Commission.

The Start Ups Project run by Emprende.ull, which forms part of the University Employment Agency, is the result of the University’s strong commitment towards fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in Canary society, supporting start-up initiatives, and sharing the tools, methodologies and know-how that has been developed in order to consolidate the economic fabric of the Canary Islands.

Housing services

The Accommodation Service of the Universidad de La Laguna is the umbrella under which a range of other services belonging to the University fall. The library at the Universidad de La Laguna provides a support service to studies, teaching and research. Its collection of materials and its staff have been set up to help users transform information into knowledge.

ICT services

The SIGA project allows the members of ULL’s community to access online resources from the Computer Rooms regardless of where they are located, so long as they have access to a SIGA computer. This allows users greater flexibility as they know they will be able to access their files and configurations from wherever they are whenever they want.
