A growing community of research excellence Middlesex has a strong research culture that values and encourages research and professional practice from all parts of the academic community, including early careers researchers.

Over the past few years, Middlesex has made a major investment in its research capacity by recruiting over 200 academic staff, including many Professors and Readers; individuals who are renowned in their fields and who further strengthen the platform on which our research and professional practice capabilities are built.

Career

Our academic and professional services staff are fundamental to our success, coming to us from all over the globe to influence the lives of our 40,000 students in London, Dubai, Mauritius and Malta – and every city in between, thanks to our groundbreaking research, partnerships and practice.

Driven by honesty, integrity, ambition and mutual support, our Middlesex University staff community forms the foundation of our world-class institution. They work on a global scale to harness the creative, innovative and enterprising spirit that has guided our university since its inception.

Housing services

There are two main types of accommodation available while at Middlesex:

  • Halls of residence: Living in halls is a great way to make the most out of your university years. Accommodation in halls of residence varies from luxurious en-suite studios to simple dormitory-style rooms. As a Middlesex student you are guaranteed a place in halls if you fulfill the criteria of our guarantee scheme. Choose to apply to one of our self-catering halls of residence in North London, including our brand new halls in Olympic Way.
  • Private rented accommodation: Accommodation available can include flats, houses or lodgings with a live-in landlord. These options are usually located away from the University's main halls of residence.

Library services

Middlesex provides extensive, flexible library services that can be accessed on-campus, or wherever you are in the world.

The Sheppard Library houses an enormous collection of hard copy resources, and the vast majority of our 30,000 full text journals are available online. There are also plenty of silent and group study spaces for you to use both in the Sheppard Library and the Williams building.

ICT services

We are continually updating our IT facilities, to ensure that our students have the best and most up-to-date computers and software available to them. As a Middlesex student you will have access to hundreds of PCs and Macs on-campus, as well as open free WiFi in all areas of the campus so you can work on personal computers and mobile devices.

Campus life

Middlesex truly is a global centre of learning. In addition to investing in creating one of the biggest and best campuses in the UK at our flagship location in London, we opened our first international campus in Dubai in 2005. The success of the Dubai campus led to the opening of a campus in Mauritius in 2009 and Malta in 2013. Students studying at all Middlesex campuses enjoy the same exceptionally high standard of teaching and facilities.

Our campuses:

  • London
  • Dubai
  • Malta
  • Mauritius

Student clubs

Middlesex Students' Union, or MDXSU, is the independent voice of students on campus. MDXSU is completely democratic and lead by elected Middlesex students, and exists to represent the views and interests of all students at Middlesex University.

The Students' Union organises activities, initiatives and events for students throughout the year, while their advice team provides support and advice on a range of academic issues.
