Student services

Our International Department has 3 areas that offer you support throughout your journey.

The International Recruitment department is the first point of contact when you are enquiring about a course at the University of Worcester. They provide you with information about the university and what it actually means for you to come here as an international student.

The International Experience is the department that supports you across your time at the university.

The Language Centre is another part of the International department, and it is the one that runs Pre-sessional English courses for improvement before your lectures start.

Housing services

Finding the right student accommodation is key to your university experience. Our welcoming halls are great places to live, study and embrace student life.

With over 1,000 single-occupancy rooms across our campuses, we offer contemporary accommodation to suit a variety of budgets and needs.

All university-managed halls operate 24-hour security, 24-hour emergency maintenance, free contents insurance, and cleaning of communal areas.

Library services

With over a quarter of a million books and 12 miles of archive collections, The Hive is no ordinary library. Opened by Her Majesty the Queen in 2012, The Hive is Europe’s first fully integrated university and public library. It has a busy events programme, with regular public lectures, exhibitions and performances.

Campus life

The University has three main sites: St John's Campus, City Campus and Severn Campus as well as the nearby Lakeside Campus.

The St John’s and City Campus are a pleasant 20 minute walk from each other, with the Severn Campus conveniently situated between the two.

St John’s Campus is the largest campus while the City Campus is home to The Hive, the University’s £60 million pound award winning library, and the Severn Campus is home to the University Arena, Britain’s first major indoor sports arena specially constructed to meet the needs of wheelchair as well as able bodied athletes.

Sports facilities

Sports students can take advantage of the award-winning University of Worcester Arena – an internationally acclaimed 2,000 seat venue, physiology labs, performance analysis suites and a 3D motion capture laboratory, to get hands on with a range of skills within their discipline that link directly in to future careers.

Student clubs

Worcester Students’ Union is the social heart of the University, with a huge range of clubs, societies and volunteering opportunities.

Located at the centre of the St John’s campus, the modern Students’ Union building is an ideal place to relax and chat; stock up on supplies from our campus shop or socialise over lunch. The bar and coffee house is a place for all students to meet with friends and enjoy a drink, play pool and watch the action on the big screens.

As soon as you register for a course at the University you automatically become a member of this student-run, democratic organisation.

Worcester State University is accredited by the New England Commission on Higher Education, Inc. (NECHE), formerly the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
