History
INSA chose to create its foundation, with Hubert Reeves renowned astrophysician as its patron, to assert its development policy and strengthenits cooperation with its socio-economic environment.
Education
INSA-Toulouse provides a range of 8 engineering specialisations, including computer sciences, civil engineering, mathematical engineering and biochemical engineering. Its courses, linked to the latest scientific advances, are supported by the activity of leading-edge research laboratories, backed by large industrial groups, for example in the fields of new materials for aeronautics, environmental protection techniques and nano-objects.
Research
INSA Toulouse’s education is closely linked to top level research in order to develop its engineering students’ ability to imagine and develop the technologies of the future.
For this, INSA:
- is strongly involved in the research policy of the “Université of Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées”
- has laboratories linked to each engineering department
- has academics and researchers carrying out dynamic research in internationally recognized laboratories (CNRS, INRA, MESR)
- provides training for research for all its engineering students throughout the five years of their course.

- Association Sportive - Managed by several students, the “Association Sportive” -the sport association- aims to develop each sport section and organize events that gather everybody. This association is linked to the Fédération Française du Sport Universitaire, which allows its members to take part in competitions.
- BEE - This association may be very useful for you as a foreign student. In fact, this student association helps new foreign students to settle in Toulouse and to be integrated in INSA Toulouse life.
Housing services
The INSA of Toulouse proposes accommodation to exchange students enrolled in its academic institution partners.

Library services
Students and staff can use INSA’s central Library (Bib'INSA) and the libraries of the different departments.
The software used by Bib'INSA gives access to the catalogues of 11 university libraries in Toulouse (including UPS and ENSEEIHT) and it is possible to borrow the works found in these catalogues.
Medical services
- The nurse ensures first aid and following up the students.
- The nurse is also in charge of organizing prevention action plans and activities: blood donation day, information on contraception, etc.
Campus life
- Enjoying a 20ha lively campus, INSA Toulouse is at the heart of a privileged environment thanks to its proximity with the Canal du Midi, which connects the Garonne river to the Mediterranean Sea, and provides a good place to study.
- The campus also provides many facilities such as accommodation in safe small-rise buildings, restaurant services and sport and leisure facilities, adapted to high level athletes and musicians. Indeed, the school encourages its students to develop their gifts and talents that is why it offers an educational path adapted to high level musicians, dancers and athletes.

Amicale des Élèves - The Amicale des Elèves is an association that manages clubs and associations at INSA.
La Junior INSA Services (JIS) - The JIS is a Junior Company, which vocation is to carry out studies for the industry.
