History

  • Since its opening in 1978, the Kensington campus buildings on St Albans Grove and Ansdell Street accommodate the third and fourth year undergraduate students as well as all postgraduate students.

Research

Our Research Centres contain groups of faculty and staff conducting research in cognate areas, both within and across existing schools and Departments.

Career

  • The Careers & Internships Office supports and empowers current students and alumni in their pursuit of opportunities spanning employment, self-employment, academia, volunteering and internships.
  • The Office aims to facilitate a wide range of activities and resources in an efficient and effective manner, utilizing both personable face-to-face support as well as on online platforms. In addition, the Office shall build on the accessible, proactive and innovative reputation of the wider Student Affairs department.

Elected by the student body, Richmond students serve as a valuable resource for getting students’ needs heard on campus.

Housing services

Accommodation comprises of single, double and multiple occupancy rooms split over two campuses at the University – Richmond and Kensington. Richmond is a quiet residential area and accommodation here is mainly for first and second year students. Kensington, too, is a quiet residential area, yet sits snugly in the heart of London and caters for our third and fourth year students, as well as postgraduate students.

Our Library Portal gives you easy access to all the library resources you need to support your studies.

ICT services

  • There is a range of IT and AV services and facilities available to students at Richmond.
  • Located on both campuses, networked computers can be found in dedicated computer labs and open access areas.  
  • Richmond operates its own university-wide WIFI service.  
  • Mac labs can be found at the Richmond and Kensington campuses.  

Medical services

While you are studying at Richmond as a full-time degree student, you may access the nation’s health care system (called the NHS) free of charge. During new student orientation, you will have the opportunity to register with a local doctor’s office and meet with a nurse from the practice. 

Campus life

  • First and second-year students attend our Richmond Hill campus. The campus is set in a splendid six-acre site at the top of Richmond Hill, one of London’s most sought-after areas. An impressive neo-Gothic building constructed in 1843 and a modern five-level library, house classrooms, computer and science laboratories, art and photography studios and an auditorium.

  • Third-year, fourth-year and postgraduate students attend our Central London campus in Kensington, one of London’s most beautiful residential areas. Its several buildings within 2 minutes’ walk from the main Atlantic House on St Albans Street have all necessary facilities from house classrooms, pc labs, library, a dining hall and University offices.
