History

Founded by renowned Israeli Professor Uriel Reichman in 1994, IDC Herzliya is a non-profit organization modeled after Ivy League universities in the U.S. In the twenty-five years since its establishment, IDC Herzliya’s success has drawn both international recognition and some of the finest lecturers and researchers from around the world to our doorstep.

Education

The undergraduate programs at IDC Herzliya in Israel are based on six semesters. Students from abroad can earn internationally recognized BA and BSc degrees in only three years. IDC Herzliya offers several of these BA and BSc programs in English.

As students enrolling in the various graduate programs in IDC, you will have the opportunity to study with the field's leading lecturers. Their rich academic and practical experience throughout Israel and the world has won international acclaim. IDC Herzliya offers MA and MBA programs in Israel that are taught entirely in English.

Research

The IDC research institutes and learning centers are focused on topics ranging from counter-terrorism and government reform to communications and psychology.

Career

The Career Center at IDC Herzliya aims to prepare students and alumni for the job market and provide them with the tools to find suitable employment both before and after they graduate.

Student services

The Student Administration Office provides a variety of services to students. It handles requests for assistance in all areas other than tuition and provides information and assistance in solving specific problems. It serves as a bridge between individual students and various entities at IDC, including lecturers, exam and paper evaluators, deans, etc. Requests concerning academic issues are addressed in consultation with the Dean of the relevant school, while the Dean of Students is involved in responding to requests regarding personal matters.

Housing services

Students have the option of enjoying a high standard of living in 500 new, fully equipped residential units located in two thirteen-story towers on IDC Herzliya’s campus. The apartments are fully-furnished to accommodate all residents’ needs. Each unit has air conditioning, a private bathroom with shower, living area and kitchen with refrigerator, microwave with grill, electric cooking top, kettle and personal TV in each room. Laundry rooms with washing machines and dryers are at the residents’ disposal. Security services operate 24/7.

Library services

The library is tailored to accommodate the academic programs that IDC Herzliya offers and to the research of its faculty members. The library’s collection, which is methodically and routinely updated, includes a variety of resources in different formats.

Medical services

All IDC students are required to have comprehensive health insurance coverage throughout the period of their studies. Israeli residents, including new immigrants, receive national health insurance for a low monthly fee in accordance with the country’s health insurance legislation.

Campus life

The IDC campus is designed to be an academic village, which encourages the pursuit of knowledge and is characterized by a tranquil atmosphere, broad lawns, decorative flowerbeds, fountains, and outdoor sculptures. Lecture halls and classrooms are equipped with innovative, state-of-the-art teaching facilities. Visitors find it difficult to believe that the campus was formerly an army base.

Sports facilities

The students at IDC Herzliya are able to volunteer and participate in many sports activities, as part of the 30 sports teams at IDC Herzliya.

Student clubs

As an educational institution which emphasizes the values of freedom of action and taking responsibility for the community as well as initiative and excellence, IDC Herzliya encourages students to be active in a wide range of areas in addition to their studies, and offers a variety of community service projects for student participation.
