History
Middle East Technical University is founded under the name of "Orta Dogu Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü" (Middle East High Technology Institute) on November 15th, 1956 to contribute to the development of Turkey and Middle East countries and especially to train people so as to create a skilled workforce in the fields of natural and social sciences.
Education
The mission of Middle East Technical University, Northern Cyprus Campus is to lead social advancement at local, regional and global dimensions by providing education and carrying out research of universal standards in a multicultural environment following an approach that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
Research
Middle East Technical University (METU) is one of the leading research universities in Turkey The overall volume of grants awarded to METU is the highest among the Turkish Universities, and research accounts for over 35% of the total income. METU has had the greatest share of the national research funds made available by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) in the last five years, and it is the premier university of Turkey in terms of the number and volume of the EU Framework Programme (FP) projects.
Career
The purpose of the Career and Management Club is to analyze the structure, functioning and any kind of problems of the public, private and services sectors. We want to take full advantage of the experiences of organizations and individuals who are experts in the areas mentioned and who are recognized in Turkey, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and worldwide, and to transfer the knowledge we gain to METU Northern Cyprus Campus students.

It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.
Student services
The Culture and Convention Center (CCC) provides a venue for social, cultural and academic activities serving the METU NCC community as well as the local community.
Having an aesthetically and functionally perfect architecture and infrastructure, the CCC houses four state-of-the-art amphitheaters; one with 522, another with 210 and the other with 109 seats. Furthermore, with a total of 5791 m2 of meeting space, CCC accommodates 7 seminar rooms (four with 20 seats, three with 60 seats), one smart class, five simultaneous translation rooms, a small and a big hall, café, canteen and a lobby.
Housing services
METU Northern Cyprus Campus dormitories are furnished with state of the art technology, offering students a safe, comfortable and well-cared environment. There are pathways for wheelchairs and Dormitory I is convenient for the accommodation of the physically disabled.
Library services
The library has a collection of 39.000 books, and the library users are able to access (METU Ankara) Main libraries' all electronic resources through the internet, which consists of 43.070 electronic journals, 265.930 e-books through 162 online databases on the campus.
ICT services
The use of Middle East Technical University, Northern Cyprus Campus IT Resources in ways precisely related with such missions of the University as instruction, education, research activities, providing social service and with such administrative/managerial activities are defined as "Primary Use".
Medical services
METU NCC Health Service is committed to the concept of wellness. Our staff includes a full-time a Head Doctor, a Consultant, a General Practitioner, a part time Psychiatrist and 5 nurses.
At present METU NCC Health Center is providing Primary Care and Urgent Care to the university community which preventive health care and counseling services also commence.Campus life
- Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus is the first overseas campus of a Turkish university, and was founded in accordance with an invitation conveyed to METU by the governments of Republic of Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the year 2000 and the foundation law adopted in the year 2003.
- Northern Cyprus Campus is attached to Middle East Technical University in all academic and administrative matters, and operates under the same educational standards and policies applied at its home campus.

Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus B.S. degree program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering has been accredited by Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
