Check out the Khan el-Khalili, a typical ancient bazaar or wander around Desert Park, where you can jog, have rock climbing and cycling.
Ride a felucca along the Nile River or attend one of the coolest festivals, the Cairo International Film Festival.
Interestingly enough, Cairo is one of the coolest cities worldwide in terms of nightlife; you can have fun in many night clubs, or relax in one of the many cafés, especially since there is a traditional coffee culture in the region.
See Pharaonic Village, a village representing Egypt, just twenty minutes from the city centre.
You can take a trip to Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt, known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean", which is around two hours and a half away by car.
International atmosphere in Cairo
Besides the international students and tourists coming from all over the world, Cairo has several foreign-born residents. These are people from Sudan and other countries from Africa, from U.S., UK, Arab countries, and a small number of Europeans mainly French, Italians, Armenians and Greeks.
As the main economic hub of Egypt, many multinational companies have placed a local office or agency in Cairo.
Weather Cairo
Weather in Cairo is typical for a hot desert, although sometimes high humidity is present, due to the city’s proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile Delta. Sand storms may occur, usually from March to May and the atmosphere becomes dry. High temperatures during winter range from 19 to 29 °C (66 to 84 °F), and in the summer, the highs are around 40 °C (104 °F). Rainfall is recorded only in the colder months.
