n universities in Beijing, the period of study is as follows: four years for undergraduate degrees, two/three years for Master’s degrees, and four years for PhD programmes. In some cases students can apply for early or delayed graduation.

Usually graduate programmes are delivered in English, for which international students must provide TOEFL or IELTS certificate as proof of language proficiency. For Chinese-taught programmes, you will need a HSK Certificate, the Chinese Proficiency Test.

Study one of the following disciplines: architecture, engineering, environment, aerospace, information science, art, medicine, Chinese language and literature, philosophy, technology, education, agriculture, or management – all of them available for Bachelor and Master level, as well as for PhD.

You can also apply for several MBA’s and EMBA’s and the distance degree courses are mostly available for Chinese law.

Beijing's economy is among the most developed and prosperous in China and in the world. The main industries supporting the city’s economy are: services (wholesale, retail, research, real estate), manufacturing, construction, agriculture, mining and finance.

Go see a performance at the Beijing or Peking opera. In the evenings, you will have plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs to choose from. While in Beijing, you should try the famous Peking Roast Duck and the Fuling Jiabing, a traditional Beijing snack food, much like a pancake.

Check out Nanluoguoxiang, Qianmen Dajie Pedestrian Street, Dashilan and Liulichang for quality shopping stores.Something that is not to be missed is the Great Wall of China, about an hour away by train

International atmosphere in Beijing

As anywhere in China, you won’t feel a multicultural environment, except for tourists and expats, the latter attracted by the highly growing foreign business and trade sector. The main ethnic communities living in Beijing are: Korean, Mongols and Tibetans.

Weather Beijing

In Beijing, you will experience hot and humid summers and cold, dry winters, due to the Siberian anticyclone. Autumn and spring are short seasons, with few rainfalls. The monthly daily average temperature in January is -3 °C (25 °F), while in July it is 26°C (79°F). The city is often surrounded with a widespread smog as a result to the heavy air pollution.
