If you would like to work in childcare, or if you're employed and are keen to further your career, this course teaches the full range of skills for working with children and young people from birth to 18 years.

Overview

This course is the ideal route into professional childcare, teaching or other work with young people, and provides both classroom-based study and practical experience. With strong links to local employers, the course will enable you to develop knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by people working in the childcare sector and provides excellent opportunities for employment or further study.

Typical entry requirements:

HNC, HND and Foundation Degrees – You would usually need a relevant BTEC level 3 profile of Merit/Pass or Pass/Pass/Pass; or DD at A level; or DE grades at A level plus C in Welsh Baccalaureate; or Access to HE where you have achieved a Pass Diploma with 45 level 3 credits (all Passes).Additionally, GCSE passes at grade C or above in three subjects to include Mathematics and English Language (or equivalent).
