Overview
An Introduction to Information Management at the University of Glasgow will cover different types of information, and the legislation which covers its management. We will look at different types of information and data, data storage and use. This will include records which are created and stored in both analogue and digital. From historical archives to data which has been created this morning, records and information needs to be managed, and it is in everyone's interest that this is managed well. We will explore the practicalities and ethics around data collection, creation, use, and storage, and the ways in which common principles can be applied through the development and application of processes which meet the needs of both the subject of the data, and the body who has collected and is using it.
Career Prospects
This course is for anyone who works with records and information as part of their role, or who has in the past.
