About Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Aims:
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is rapidly being seen as an invaluable way to improve performance and get better results, faster, in both personal and professional life. NLP has several key benefits, including improving the way we communicate, changing the way we think about situations so that we modify behaviours and responses which do not help us, replicating in other situations those behaviours and responses which are useful
This Diploma will help attendees to acquire a skill base for facilitating self (and to some degree, other people) to develop themselves both personally and professionally. The skills taught will help attendees to both improve communication and to change un-useful patterns of behavior in certain contexts.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the successful student will be able to:- operate from the under-pinning beliefs within NLP (the mindset for success) across several contexts of their life
- be able to improve their communication with a wide range of people
- change their responses to certain situations if those responses are not useful
- use the ‘techniques’ and tools of NLP taught in the class effectively for themselves,
- to some degree be able to help other people to do some of the above
Programme Structure
Syllabus:
- The background and underlying principles of NLP the mindset for success
- How to build rapport, the fundamentals for influencing
- How to recognise and work with the different ways people process and express information
- How to set achievable goals
- How to feel at your best when it is important to do so, for example before and during presentations and challenging meetings
- How to improve the way you communicate
- Negotiation skills
- How to gain greater understanding of anothers position, whether in negotiation, relationships or business
- How to give effective feedback
- How to put events and situations into perspective
- How to turn a negative into a positive
- A model to help structure your or others ideas
- Some keys about how we relate to time
- How and when you can use this material with other people
Teaching and Learning Strategies:
The course is structured so that each segment covers the necessary theory, as well as demonstrations and practical exercises. There will be ample time for questions, and qualified assistants will be at hand to help you with any questions that you may have during the course. There will be approximately one hour of reading to do before the course. Feedback will be given in a highly empowering way where appropriate. Individual outcomes and learning goals will be set at the beginning of the course and will form the basis on which to build the material learned.
