About

Whether you want to visit, work or live in a French speaking environment, you will get more out of the experience if you can communicate effectively. As part of our Beginners French series, this Beginners French 3 course at The Open University UK will develop your reading and listening skills in French so you can speak and write the language in everyday situations.

Overview

You’ll learn the basic structures of French along with key vocabulary needed to describe places, find your way around, explain personal and work routines and plans, and how to respond to invitations. This course will also increase your awareness of the culture of France and other French-speaking countries.

After successfully completing this Beginners French 3 course at The Open University UK, you will receive a digital badge. This can be shared on social media, added to email signatures or act as a certificate.

Learner support

  • You will have access to discussion forums that you are strongly encouraged to participate in as these forums combine support from fellow students with input from a language-specialist learning adviser.
  • Other support is available via the StudentHome website and Computing Helpdesk.
