The English Boost Language Course from the Toronto Metropolitan University Key facts:
Build your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills with 25-30 hours of classroom activity weekly.
In addition, your weekly schedule will include conversation circles, debates and other interactive learning opportunities to improve your ability to communicate effectively in academic and social contexts.
This English Boost program is half the duration of the ESL Foundation Program (one term) at TMU.
After completion
Successful completion of the English Boost or Pre-English Boost + English Boost program allows you to join any of TMU's 60+ undergraduate degree programs.
Accreditation
Our English Language Institute (ELI) English language programming is accredited by Languages Canada, Canada's premier language organization representing its two official languages: English and French.

- Our classes will be delivered in a blended format: in person and virtually. Students will come to the English Language Institute located in the heart of downtown Toronto to attend classes in person, where public health protocols will be followed closely.
- The remainder of student learning is completed virtually synchronously and asynchronously with the support of your instructor and through structured, independent learning.
