Overview
The course will show you lots of techniques that will allow you to develop new ideas for your fashion portfolio. You will be encouraged to challenge yourself on a journey to design a capsule collection. The course will teach you how to source, research and develop your fashion designs whilst being fun and exhilarating.
Course outcomes
- By the end of the Fashion Sketchbook course at the University of the Arts London (UAL) you should have a big fat sketchbook filled with ideas, a stronger fashion portfolio and a new confidence to feed your imagination.
Programme Structure
Topics covered:- A variety of different techniques and media will be demonstrated
- We will explore different types of drawing skills and approaches to fashion design
- You will collect, record and process inspiration and try out ideas
- You will be encouraged to explore, experiment and take risks
- Learning the basics of anatomy will help you express your ideas on the page quickly and spontaneously
- We will cover silhouette, textiles, print and draping
- Pattern cutting and illustration techniques will also be considered
