Overview
The course will show you lots of techniques that will allow you to develop new ideas for your fashion portfolio. You will be encouraged to challenge yourself on a journey to design a capsule collection. The course will teach you how to source, research and develop your fashion designs whilst being fun and exhilarating.
Course outcomes
By the end of the Fashion Sketchbook course at the University of the Arts London (UAL) you should have a big fat sketchbook filled with ideas, a stronger fashion portfolio and a new confidence to feed your imagination.Programme Structure
Topics covered:- A variety of different techniques and media will be demonstrated
- We will explore different types of drawing skills and approaches to fashion design
- You will collect, record and process inspiration and try out ideas
- You will be encouraged to explore, experiment and take risks
- Learning the basics of anatomy will help you express your ideas on the page quickly and spontaneously
- We will cover silhouette, textiles, print and draping
- Pattern cutting and illustration techniques will also be considered
