About the course
This Creative Life Drawing course at the University of the Arts London (UAL) uses the human figure as a visual prompt through which participants can unlock their own creativity and learn to think like an artist. Over the course of the week will focus on technique and materials in a practical, hands-on class- combining traditional Life Drawing practices with experimental drawing ideas and mediums.
This course is a hands-on drawing experience with practicing artists offering group tuition as well as one to one guidance. Participants will be introduced to the basics of fundamental drawing, building skill, knowledge and confidence over the course of the day and moving on to explore contemporary studio practice and experimental techniques.
Programme Structure
Topics covered:- You will be encouraged to engage with new concepts and practices and to try a wide variety of differing materials - some traditional, others less so.
- You will be encouraged to work with the skills that you already possess.
- We will not teach you 'how to draw' but rather aim to enable you to fully engage with and realise your own creative potential, build up confidence in your own artistic identity and think like an artist.
