Overview
This Level 3 Certificate in Travel and Tourism - Aviation offers breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge, skills and understanding, and provides opportunities to acquire a number of practical and work-related skills.
Learners will gain those skills by successfully completing a selection of the optional aviation units in addition to the mandatory units required.
This Oxford Prestige College qualification is designed for learners who want to go on to higher level studies or into a relevant travel and tourism role, particularly in aviation. It is suitable for use within a study programme.
Aims of the course
These are to:
- Gain an understanding of ground operations, including health and safety and ramp operations
- Understand ramp operations.
- Understand joint aviation requirements for operation of commercial air transport, Boeing maintenance error decision aid.
- Gain knowledge about inspections, including defects, breakdowns.
- Understand airport terminal operations, including the passenger journey and how airports maximize the passenger flow.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of airline cabin crew and how they manage safety and security risks.
- Understand the principles of the travel and tourism industry and explore the various avenues of work within this industry.
- Gain transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.
- Explain how organizations manage customer service and their policies and procedures.
- Explain the range of travel and tourism organizations as well as their ownership and interrelationships.
- Analys employment opportunities and the impact of current trends in travel and tourism.
- Evaluate how hospitality providers meet the needs and expectations of customers.
