About the course
Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (EAS) work ranges from repairing a household appliance to maintaining gaming machines. The workers with EAS endorsed to disconnect and reconnect class are also permitted to disconnect these appliances from permanent connection units. This course is offered at Unitec Institute of Technology.
Programme Structure
What you will learn:
- This course includes practical skills assessment required for Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (EAS) -endorsed to disconnect and reconnect- class of Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) registration.
- An option to complete the EAS class of registration without the endorsement is also on offer.
- The course includes safety training (an approved First aid course) and offers preparation for the theory exam required for this class of registration.

This one-week short course is for people who have an EWRB letter/certificate confirming their Limited Certificate application has been accepted/approved.
To attend the course, you must have required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) gear, which includes safety (capped) footwear and safety glasses. We recommend that you bring your toolbox, which must include (but not limited to):
