The objective of the Thermal-Hydraulics in Nuclear Energy Engineering course offered by KTH Royal Institute of Technology is to provide an overview of the basic thermal processes that take place in nuclear systems.

What you will learn

After successful completion of the Thermal-Hydraulics in Nuclear Energy Engineering course offered by KTH Royal Institute of Technology, students will be able to:

  • describe the thermal and thermodynamic processes that take place in a nuclear power plant,
  • formulate, analyze and solve simple problems in heat transfer in complex systems,
  • formulate, analyze and solve simple problems in single- and two-phase flows,
  • analyze dynamic and thermal loads in complex systems,
  • perform a simple thermal design of a nuclear power plant,
  • reflect on thermal limitations in nuclear power plant.
