What you will learn
Upon completion of the Business Planning course offered by Dalarna University, the student shall be able to do the following:
Knowledge and understanding
- explain the basic concepts of business planning and the basic elements of the business plan
- describe different types of organisations and company forms
- describe the most common forms of resource acquisition and funding for new start ups
Skills and abilities
- compile a business plan based on his or her own chosen business idea
- discuss the pros and cons of various strategic choices in the business planning process
- analyse the strengths and weaknesses of business plans
Evaluation ability and approach
- systematically reflect on the importance of the business plan in interaction with stakeholders
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- how a business idea can be formulated and analysed in a structured way
- how to conduct an industry and market analysis
- growth strategies and marketing
- various business models and forms as well as the advantages and disadvantages associated with choosing one of these
- the organisation of companies
- various types of resource acquisition
- different possible ways to fund a company that is in its establishment phase
- the importance of companies having a good economic foundation
- liquidity planning, budgeting, revenue / cost generation and pricing
