What you will study
On completion of the The Future of Human Rights - Sustainability and Contemporary Social Challenges course offered by Dalarna University, students will be able to:
- analyse and critically discuss exploratory theorisations of the relationship between human rights and sustainable development
- identify possibilities and problems relating to the implementation of human rights using relevant theorisations, especially with regard to sustainable development
- systematically explain, discuss and critically evaluate different theoretical perspectives on a defined area in the fields of human rights and sustainable development.

The program focuses on:
- the theoretical attempts to reform the understanding of human rights in order to improve the ability to deal with contemporary problems, such as the climate crisis
- the third and fourth wave of human rights
- how human rights have become a dominant framework for the way in which states and citizens/individuals should act in relation to each other
