Overview
What you will study
Our society has been revolutionized by the use of computers and the exchange of information over the Internet. This revolution is taking place in industry as movements like Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet Consortium attest. Industries must integrate this technology to stay competitive. Since this is a new technology, it is usually purchased. The question that the IoT-based industrial automation and digitization course offered by Luleå University of Technology aims to answer is what requirements should be made when purchasing such solution.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- Internet communication
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Cyber Physical Systems (CPS)
- the Eclipse Arrowhead framework
The practical part uses a development board with a modern microcontroller that measures temperature (among others). The students connect securely over the Internet the development board to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and are able to subscribe to the sensor values in a web browser.
