Overview
What you will learn
- During the Supply Chain Management Fundamentals Board Game offered by University of Pretoria, delegates will manage supply chains aiming to avoid severe penalties while making a profit. Delegates will form teams and be assigned different managerial roles.
- Teams will have to source from upstream suppliers, manufacture products and then deliver the products to meet the demands of their downstream customers. Numerous strategies and trade-offs will have to be considered. Delegates have to take responsibility for their decisions as they may get some contradicting advice from other team members.
- In addition, other supply chains will be competing for sometimes scarce resources and limited capacities and supply chain disruptions will be experienced.
- In conclusion, delegates will be facilitated as they learn how to manage their supply chains while experiencing disruptions in competitive business environments in this fun filled “learning-by-playing” supply chain gamification experience which gives them a “big picture” overview of the entire supply chain.
