What you will learn
The Principles of Risk Management programme offered by North-West University (NWU) will assist participants to understand the benefit of managing risk effectively.
- The ability to identify, evaluate and monitor the different types of risks within an organisation including financial and non-financial risks.
- Basic knowledge and informed understanding of risk management strategies of an organisation, including the use of general strategies of risk identification and management in order to establish and monitor appropriate systems of internal control.
- The application of a range of specialised skills to evaluate the types of risks facing an organisation, and evaluate specific risk management strategies and internal controls while taking government and ethical issues into account.
- Effectively, innovatively and responsibly apply the pervasive qualities and skills required in the management of risk, including ethics and professionalism, personal attributes (e.g. self-management, leadership and teamwork) and professional skills (e.g. effective communication and utilisation of information technology)
