What you will study
First, the Step into Maths - Games and Graphs course offered by University of Oxford will introduce you to the maths of connections, known as graph theory. A famous example of graph theory is the London Underground map. We will discover some of the basic ideas in graph theory as we try to unravel their web of connections.
Our look at the maths of connections will end with the most celebrated results in mathematics that proves that any map can coloured with just four colours. This is true for any map, from the counties of England to the map of the world!Finally, for a change of pace, we will test your strategic thinking with some mathematical games. Each game has a winning strategy, but can you find it?
