Overview
What you will study
In the Developing Further Assignment Writing Skills course offered by University of Oxford , individually, and then in small groups, we will examine how to successfully ‘unpack a question’ before deciding how to plan our approach in answering it. We will consider the importance of a clear introduction or thesis (topic) statement. We will look at examples of improving the fluidity of our writing style and the importance of always bearing our reader in mind. Avoiding plagiarism in an assignment is critical and we will discuss various ways of successfully referencing our research and providing supporting evidence in the development of our argument. We will have the chance to read through and discuss examples of assignments which have received different grades.
