Overview
This intensive Hebrew program is run in collaboration with the Ministry of Absorption, the program, otherwise known as TAKA, is ideal for those who wish to improve their academic and language skills.
You’ll need a high school diploma or higher to join the program, and be looking to pursue a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree, or a PhD in Hebrew at an Israeli college or university.
Expect some intensive coursework focusing on three core components: Intensive Hebrew studies, English studies, personal academic consultation for choosing a study track, and a selection of Hebrew specializations such as Academic Writing, International Relations, Israeli Society, and more. You’ll also be prepared for the Yael Test for Hebrew proficiency, and Amir Test for English proficiency required by higher academic institutions in Israel.

Programme Structure
- Hebrew instruction taught by TAU International’s Hebrew teachers according to the participant’s level. A typical schedule is Sunday to Thursday from morning to early afternoon
- Hebrew specializations are also offered for further exposure to higher education instruction in Hebrew and may include topics such as Academic Writing, Israeli Society, and Israeli Jewish culture. A list of finalized courses will be provided upon the program start.
- English instruction taught by TAU’s English Department. Students will study for a minimum of 60 hours of English depending on their assessed level.
TAKA participants also receive preparation for the Yael Test for Hebrew proficiency and the Amir Test for English proficiency required by higher academic institutions in Israel.
Participants may be eligible for academic advising throughout the program.

TAKA is open to High School graduates, Bachelor degree graduates and students holding a Master's degree (in specific situations) who wish to pursue their next degree in Hebrew and therefore should already have a foundation in Hebrew (Minimum level Gimmel-For further details on whether you are level Gimmel, you can check here our syllabus)Students who are Hebrew beginners will not be able to join the program and may benefit from TAU International’s Intensive Hebrew Ulpan.
