Overview
The MA TESOL program offers our study abroad students the opportunity to learn from experts in the fields of education and linguistics. The MA TESOL's multidisciplinary curriculum tackles a range of domains of English teaching and research, including practical components that provide the perfect combination of theory and practice with real-time hands-on teaching in the Israeli education system. Students can join our MA TESOL program for the spring semester and can choose from a variety of courses which best suit their academic and professional interests.
Programme Structure
Mandatory Courses:
The TESOL practicum offers practical teaching placements in elementary, junior high and high school as well as opportunities in higher education and with refuge populations. It is accompanied by a mandatory 1 credit course titled: Practicum- Bridging theory and Practice.
The program is preceded by a mandatory intensive Hebrew language course, called Ulpan, to prepare students for life in Israel.

- Immigration and minorities (2 credits)
- Teaching EFL to Learners with Learning Disabilities and ADHD (3 credits)
- Language Testing and Assessment: From theory to practice (3 credits)
- Language Policy: English in the Global world (3 credits)

General requirements
The TESOL Program application for admission via TAU International is open to students who cannot benefit from an existing direct exchange agreement between universities. Applicants must be accomplished undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at accredited higher education institutions outside of Israel. Generally, a minimum GPA of 80 on a scale of 100, or 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, or equivalent is required. This program is suitable for students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate Education, Linguistic, or TESOL programs, although students not enrolled in specific English education studies may also be considered.
