Key facts
During University of Amsterdam's Digital Methods Summer School (DMI) Summer School, participants actively engage in empirical research projects, employing web-specific software tools, such as scrapers and crawlers. The course concludes with an event at which the research projects are presented.
Programme Structure
- Comprised of new media researchers and PhD candidates, it designs methods and tools for repurposing online devices and platforms (such as Twitter, Facebook and Google) for research into social and political issues. The Digital Methods Initiative works with non-governmental organisations, activists, journalists and artists alike. The Digital Methods Summer School is self-sustaining.
