Overview
Initially studying how to build thematic consistency and design integrity within a collection; you‘ll then be introduced to current trends and trend analysis. This theoretical study will be underpinned by a strong skills training in sketching; colour, form and proportion, which will be extended with CAD work. You will be introduced to pattern and last making, and on a more academic theme exposed to the bio-mechanics of movement and health issues relating to feet. There will also be a short introduction to materials, their qualities and how best to manipulate them. At the end of the course, your newly developed skills and experience will be consolidated with practical prototype making. The pace of the course will be adjusted to suit your personal and the group needs. There will also be, if interest requires, the opportunity to visit a working last modellers, shoes manufacturers, and tannery. Participants obtain 4 ECTS each.
During the TBU Summer Schools 2015 students can use modern facilities to advance their personal development and skills. Participants can meet and discuss with the finest academic minds and experts in the field of their interest.
In addition, participants are also provided with very interesting programme including cultural events, introduction to Czech culture and traditions, discovering Zlín and its beautiful surroundings.
