Featuring professionals in various fields of the neurosciences, this Annual Pediatric Brain Symposium offered by Johns Hopkins University will address issues in pediatric brain health with a focus on epilepsy ,behavioral health and autism.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- Identify early signs and symptoms of autism spectrum disorder.
- Describe a comprehensive treatment strategy, incorporating multiple disciplines for autism spectrum disorder.
- Identify 3 key features to providing difficult feedback to families.
- Outline key time points for the surveillance of anxiety, depression, and disruptive behaviors.
- Identify early intervention for developmental concerns when milestones were delayed.
- Describe key changes in the CDC's updated guidelines for developmental milestones being met prior to the age of 5.
- Explain the role of the safety plan in children and adolescents who are identified for suicidal ideation that do not meet criteria for a Baker Act.
- Identify signs and symptoms of seizures.
- Describe comprehensive treatment of the patient with epilepsy, refractory and non-refractory utilizing rehab, neuropsychology, and other healthcare teams.
- Identify candidates, risks, and benefits for epilepsy surgery.
