What you will study
Clinicians are seeing more and more patients who present for treatment with concerns of a sexual or gender nature. It is therefore necessary for providers to have knowledge and skills in these areas to meet the need. In the Update on the Spectrum of Human Sexuality and Gender Expression symposium offered by Johns Hopkins University , presentations will be conducted by experts in the field and will focus on information pertinent to working with these populations.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- Gain confidence in understanding their patients sexual and gender-based concerns.
- Discuss developmental considerations related to gender identity and gender expression.
- Demonstrate increased competence in providing care for transgender patients.
- Describe current medical and psychological treatments for sexual dysfunctions.
- Analyze the impact of technology on sexual expression.
- Classify paraphilic disorders based on nosological and treatment considerations.
