University College London (UCL)'s Managing Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) in General Dentistry one-day hands-on course will introduce you to the symptoms of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and both surgical and non-surgical treatment options for patients.
Programme Structure
Courses include:
- symptoms and clinical manifestation of the TMD patient
- function and physiology of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ)
- causes of, and various conditions which lead to, TMD
- the diagnosis pathway and required diagnostic examinations
- management of the acute TMD symptoms
- occlusal complications
- TMD occlusal complications to the restorative treatment
- splints fabrication, including Michigan splints, which patients need splints, what is sent to the laboratory, how to fit the splint
