The study day will provide an overview of clinical nutrition.
It will enable you to introduce nutritional management of periodontal disease into your everyday practice.
University College London (UCL)'s Nutrition Workshop for Dental Hygienists and Therapists - Part 1 course will cover:
- basic nutrition principles
- nutritional biochemistry relevant to chronic inflammation and the periodontal tissues
The practical application of clinical nutrition will be presented and you'll also have the opportunity to study a case history.
You'll gain 6.5 hours of verifiable CPD (continuing professional development).

- Carbohydrate and protein intake relative to oral health and chronic inflammation
- Essential fatty acids and inflammatory bone loss
