- a means for articulating form
- a tool for expression and creative imagination
Programme Structure
- The course explores the idea of perception as the starting point for visual enquiry.
- In each session you'll focus on a particular set of formal issues underpinning the nature of painting. Special attention is placed on colour and composition.
- You'll paint from objects, the human figure, memory and secondary sources. At one session you'll paint from a life model.
- You can choose to work with oils or acrylic.

This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who are more experienced and want to re-engage with the first principles of painting.
