You'll work from your own ideas and preparatory material, supported by the course tutors.
You'll have the option to attend workshops to learn how other painters develop their work.University College London (UCL)'s Painting - Developing Practice (Sunday Course) course runs on five consecutive Sundays, from 10am to 4pm.Programme Structure
- The course aims to provide you with space to develop your ideas and personal practice.
- There's no structured teaching, but you'll receive close tutorial support.
- You can also attend optional morning workshops which will explore strategies used by painters to develop work.
- There will also be slide shows of tutors' work (which represents a wide spectrum of professional practice in terms of style and subject matter) and group critiques.

General requirements
This course is suitable for those with a broad range of experience.
You should have some experience of painting and/or have studied the first principles, e.g. by attending the Slade's Painting course, or similar.
You should bring sketches, photographs and other types of visual resources to help you discuss your ideas for new work.
Please note that your work cannot be larger than 50cm. If you wish to explore larger scale working you should attend the Easter course.
