What you will study
On successful completion of the Musculoskeletal Management of Rheumatological Conditions course offered by University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) , you will be able to:
- Show an ability to appraise the multi-disciplinary and biopsychosocial approach to the management of rheumatological conditions.
- Demonstrate appropriate patient education and management techniques in complex rheumatological clinical situations..
- Critically review pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions used in the management of rheumatological conditions.
- Apply critical reading and reflective practice to the day-to-day management of complex rheumatological conditions.

- Practical clinical skills for structured, comprehensive assessment
- Normal structure and function and pathophysiological process of rheumatological conditions
- Special investigations for rheumatological conditions
- Broad understanding of pharmacological interventions in rheumatological conditions
- Biopsychosocial assessment and interventions
- Exploration of the impact of the condition on physical and mental health
- Understanding barriers that may impact on participation, recovery and rehabilitation
- Holistic, patient-centred goal setting and outcome measures
- The management and rehabilitation of rheumatological conditions
- Underpinning theory, practice and development of
- Critical literature searching, appraisal and evaluation skills

- Applicants should hold at least a 2:2 degree in a related subject
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Medicine or Surgery qualification or relevant professional qualification in a related field
- Applications from other related professions will be considered on an individual basis
- Be actively engaged in or have access to clinical experience in musculoskeletal practice in order to support learning within the programme
- IELTS: Score of at least 6.5 or equivalent
