What you will study

On successful completion of this Safeguarding Children and Young People course offered by The University of Lancashire a student will be able to:

  • Critically appraise theories and evidence underpinning service development and practice for safeguarding children.
  • Demonstrate enhanced knowledge and skills in improving effective inter-professional and multidisciplinary working in the interests of safeguarding children
  • Critically analyse policy, guidance and practice in relation to assessment of need and risk
  • Critically evaluate the participation of children and young people in safeguarding service provision
  • Demonstrate professional leadership in the practice of safeguarding children by contributing to the advancement of knowledge and evidence based practice of professional colleagues.
