The Winter School is structured in a 5-day course characterized by lectures and hands on training covering the most commonly used techniques for microsurgical reconstruction in complex cases. Each day a different topic will be covered such as head and neck reconstruction, breast reconstruction, facial reanimation.
The course will include frontal lectures regarding the clinical anatomy of the district and a description of the different reconstructive options. It will also include a practical training in the OR during which the participants will be involved in patient evaluation, design and flap planning of the different reconstructive options and assist during two complex surgeries.

- The aim of the Winter School is to give participants the detailed knowledge and expertise needed to achieve the best results in complex microsurgical reconstructive procedures.
- The decision-making process will be critically explained to the student and the techniques of flap planning, flap harvesting and donor site morbidity will be discussed.
- A step-by-step approach will be used to explain each procedure, completed by tips and tricks from leading experts.
- In conclusion, prevention and treatment of complications will be addressed.
