What you will study
In the Leading Change Professional Development course offered by City, University of London , you will prepare a change plan for leading a change initiative (of your choice) and critically assess the principles of supporting and sustaining the change following implementation. You will apply either a public health or organisational change framework, depending on your topic choice.
This course will benefit anyone who works in health and social care, nationally or internally, that will be engaged in implementing a change process as a leader, or as a team member supporting change.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- Working with teams and groups, managing and coaching individuals.
- Planning and managing resources and staffing.
- Identifying the need for change and developing performance measures for improvement.
- Making the case for strategic fits by explaining how new initiatives support service and organisational objectives.
- Communicating the need for change, building consensus and shared support for new initiatives.
- Engaging the team, and motivating team members in developing their roles, assuming personal initiative, and taking initiatives forward.
- Implementing and sustaining change through shared leadership, shared objectives, and common goals based around agreed team and service-performance measures.

General requirements
- Professional experience working in health or social care is required.
If your first language is not English, one of the following is required:
- A first degree from a UK university
- A first degree from an overseas institution recognised by City, University of London as providing adequate evidence of proficiency in the English language, for example, from institutions from Australia, Canada or the United States of America.
- International English Language Test Service (IELTS) a score of 7.0 is required with no subtest below 7.0
- Pearson Test of English (Academic) score 72 required
- TOEFL 100 overall with 24 in Writing, 20 in Listening, 19 Reading and 20 Speaking
