  • Study mode: Synchronous online delivery via virtual classroom using one of the following web-based learning and teaching platforms (e.g. MS teams, Kaltura new row, Adobe connect, Zoom).  The content on the day will be delivered via a mixture of PowerPoint presentation, small group exercise and discussion, group feedback and recap/quiz.
Course content
  • Effective use of medicines is an important part of self-management of chronic conditions. However, many people do not take their medicines. It is estimated that only half of people with chronic conditions adhere to their long-term medications and only a third follow general lifestyle recommendation.

By the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Describe what the concordance approach entails and what adherence to treatment can be affected by in general.
  • Identify evidenced based strategies and use self-management tools to prevent relapse and promote recovery in users of mental health services.
  • Describe and understand your role in promoting concordance in your area of work to improve patient outcomes.
