What you will study
The Satefy Risk Management course offered by City, University of London explores the established means of addressing Safety Risk Management in aviation, how risks are identified and assessed, how we decide if a risk can be tolerated and if not how that risk will be treated. But we also cover how the industry is changing to embrace new ideas including how to build knowledge in our assessments, the way surprises can be addressed and more robust ways of visualizing the overall safety risk management picture.

- International standards and requirements for aviation risk management and the central role of risk management within the SMS.
- How contemporary risk management science highlights weaknesses in the classic aviation risk management methods but also helps us in adopting better modern methods.
- How to transform safety events into useful risk data
- How to assess risks and visualize the holistically in a Risk Picture
- What is the best way to take risk-related decisions
- How to best treat risks in today’s complex environment
