What you will study
The three hands-on courses in this Cyber Defense Analyst course offered by Rochester Institute of Technology are built on authentic assessment of specific skills in information technology that employers are looking for.
The first two courses will provide you with fundamental IT skills that will prepare you for entry-level roles in IT support and network security.
The final course provides an immersive training experience that simulates real work for a cybersecurity company. The skills taught in this course will prepare you to identify, analyze, and prevent cyber attacks on enterprise networks.

- Install, configure, and troubleshoot PC motherboards, system components, and peripheral devices
- Summarize the uses for various network services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Provide support related to the use of mobile devices and print devices
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot a network
- Support the use of network operations and network security
- Identify the potential weaknesses on a system and network
- Perform basic memory analysis to identify potential malware intrusions
- Install decoys and triggers to identify sophisticated intrusions
