What you will study
Mandarin Chinese is one of the most important languages in the world for business and global trade. The Chinese Language course offered by Concordia University of Edmonton will allow you to gain knowledge of learning, communicative, and recourse strategies.
You will gain introductory Chinese cultural knowledge, along with cross-cultural competence and international perspective.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- HSK Level 1 Chinese: understand basic language materials related to common personal and daily life. They can retell, recite and copy words or sentences with fair accuracy and can write words or sentences following example.
- HSK Level 2: understand and master basic language materials related to common personal and daily life. They will master basic sentence structures, make simple sentences, provide simple descriptions, and exchange some basic information.
- HSK Level 3 will be able to understand and learn language materials related to daily settings. They can use more complex sentence patterns to communicate on familiar topics through interactions and descriptions.
- HSK Level 4: understand language materials related to social life. They can produce more correct sentences on familiar topics in their descriptions, explanations or comparisons. They can connect basic passages or compose simple passages.
