Overview
Upon completion of this End-of-Life Doula program from Laurentian University learners will be trained to care for someone and their loved ones holistically during end of life. Learners will be able to support someone during the end of life period as well as support family and friends after a loved one has passed. Learners will be able to empower, and educate those experiencing loss while supporting them through the decision making process.
Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of the program, learners will be able to:
- describe the role and responsibilities of the End of Life Doula;
- demonstrate effective communication skills and etiquette;
- understand the complexities of grief;
- understand ethical and legal issues relating to end of life care including funeral practices.
