In today's world, media offerings greatly affect national moods and perceptions and also political views. Hence, we have to analyze these products sharply. A useful tool for such analysis has been developed by Alison Bechdel, a witty American cartoonist, and developer of the Bechdel Principle. By it, we ask ourselves four questions: Does this novel or film or opera or play have a woman as a main character? Two women? Talking with each other? About something other than a man? The Feminist Studies - The Bechdel Principle in Action course offered by Trent University will discuss that.
